A Family Run Company L.K.& A.Enterprises Limited was started by the late Louis Kanner and his son Alexander Kanner in the 1950’s. They started out as general merchants dealing in plantation machinery, powdered egg, glacier cherries and all kinds of goods that were not readily available in the UK at the time.

The company moved on to acquire property when Louis bought a large house in Priory Road, West Hampstead (still in the company today). He moved into the basement flat to live with his wife and let out the upstairs rooms as bedsits. Alex also bought property, a small bed and breakfast in Bayswater. They both went on to buy a few other properties but sadly the councils gave notice of ‘compulsory purchase’ in the 60’s and 70’s – This was in order to build new council flats.

In later years, after Louis passed away it was time for Alex to retire and sell up the company. After selling off his bed and breakfast he was left with one – Priory Road. In 1991 his son Paul (then, a television repair man) had just sold his shop in Cockfosters. He decided to buy the company, together with its one remaining property from his father and build it up all over again – and the rest is history! Alex was able to retire and later passed away in September 2004.

Today, Paul together with his wife Maxine, son Adam, daughter-in-law Gemma and son-in-law Gary run what is now a thriving property business consisting of residential lettings, refurbishments and developments.

Paul’s ethos is that he would not rent out accommodation that he would not live in himself. He strongly believes in having fair rents and encourages the right type of tenant for each property.
